2017 a year of travel

As I’m looking back at 2017 I realize it was definitely a year defined by travel and trusting to follow the Lords lead. As I’m sitting here realizing how many places Andrew and I were able to go I’m blown away by the sweetness of the Lord to know my heart.  For years I longed to travel and there were many times I made it known to Andrew, but back then there seemed to be a big fat “its never going to happen” sign slapped across my dream. Yet I […] Read more…

Vegas with the girls!

I’ve been so blessed to have these two ladies in my life.  I pretty much won the jackpot when my husband’s two best friends married such rad women that I love. I know that isn’t always the case for a lot of people , but I’m happy to say I’m one of the lucky ones. Vegas was so much fun! It’s the simple luxuries that mean so much, like sleeping in, taking your sweet time to get ready and spending all day shopping. Especially for Chloe and Anna who both […] Read more…

Getaway with the besties

Life can get so busy that weeks can go by without being able to see your friends, even friends that live exactly 4 min away.  Its kind of a bummer, so when the opportunity came up for us to have an overnight getaway we all jumped on it.  We packed up the car, packed up the snacks and headed out to a place with barely there Wi-Fi, spotty cell service and a whole lot of space.  We spent almost all of our time outside running around getting sweaty and covered […] Read more…

Ireland Again?!

Ireland again? Yes this is our third time going to Ireland in one year but I will tell you the same thing we’ve told our family and friends and the same thing we told customs when they were questioning us pretty heavily before letting us out of the airport. No we are not planning on moving to Ireland, we just really really love it there! And one of the biggest reasons is because of all the friends we’ve made there.  I mean like real, honest to goodness friends.  And a […] Read more…

Our Last Day in Iceland

On our last day in Iceland we drove out to Fjadrarglijufur Canyon.  I was really looking forward to it because the pictures I had seen were amazing. It was raining pretty hard that morning but I was hopeful that by the time we got to the canyon, an hour and a half drive from our hotel, the skies would clear up.  No such luck.  It was raining pretty hard when we got there but that didn’t stop us.  We put on our ponchos and headed up the trail.  Even though […] Read more…

Waterfalls and Planes

I must say that our second day in Iceland was a pretty good one.  We woke up early and set out to hike down Solheimasandur beach to see the old abandoned DC-3 plane that crashed there in 1973. It took us just over an hour to walk all the way from the parking area to the actual plane which felt like an hour of walking through Mars. The ground was black sand and rock and there was nothing in the horizon as far as we could see, which had become […] Read more…

Iceland? Sure we’ll go!

People kept asking us why we were going to Iceland and we would joke that it was just a pit stop on the way to Ireland. Like, “oh yeah we’re just these big time travelers so we’re going to swing by Iceland real quick to check it out. No big deal.” Haha! I’m so sure.  The truth is it was all about the airfare.  We had heard about this Icelandic airline, Wow Airlines, that has really good deals on airfare to European countries.  The only catch is that every flight […] Read more…

Dunluce Castle

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Andrew and I love the Castles in Ireland. We just don’t see that kind of thing where we live in Southern California.  We had heard about Dunluce castle before because the history is quite interesting but we didn’t realize we were so close to it until we saw it in the “things to do” suggestions in our hotel room.  When we realized we were only 15 min away we thought well dang, we’ve got to go see it! So here’s this […] Read more…

Just because its beautiful

There’s nothing extraordinary about this post or these pictures except the fact that it’s a perfect example of just how beautiful Ireland is.  We were driving down the road and we saw this beautiful overgrown cottage.  It was just gorgeous so of course we pulled over for pictures.  Later that day we ended up at the beach along the northern coast and again it was oh so beautiful.  We have loads of beaches in California but they don’t look like this.  The water was nestled right up to a grassy […] Read more…

Our Favorite Irish Boys

In May of 2016 we met Ryan and Conor, two Irish boys visiting the states. Andrew Ryan and Conor had all three been following each other on Instagram but after an all night hang out at our friends loft in LA we were all friends. Andrew and I had already booked our first trip to Ireland so we made plans to meet up with them when we got there.  It was really nice to have two familiar faces waiting for us on our first time outside of the United States. […] Read more…
